19 year old Callum Burrows, otherwise known as Saint Raymond, gained popularity in 2013 through gigging around Nottingham. Since then it has been a whirlwind for young Callum. Starting with performing at Reading and Leeds Festival on the BBC Introducing Stage in August 2013- which then landed him with a record deal with Asylum Records, then soon after he was on to supporting the likes of Haim and now, Ed Sheeran at the O2, Saint Raymond has been quick to success. Honestly, I think this guy has a lot more in him and there will be a lot more to come!
Many have compared him as the new Jake Bugg, although I don’t think this is the case because their sounds are completely different. Jake Bugg seems to transport us back to the seventies whilst Callum Burrows indie sound makes me think of drinking cider at festivals.
When I first heard “Young Blood”, I was enthused to meet the guy and chat to him about his successes so far.
Saint Raymond is hand on heart- a lovely guy. Being honest and down to earth for a 19 year old who has risen to fame fast, it was nice to meet him and after the interview; take some odd pictures with sugar?!
