Newton Faulkener

Newton Faulkener grew up in Surrey, the area I live in at the moment, and went to ACM  where he gained the attention he deserves. With ginger dreadlocks, a beautiful voice, touching lyrics and an absolute prodigy on a variety of instruments, Newton Faulkener dominated festivals around 2007 and 2008 with his famous tune “Dream Catch Me.”

Now four albums later, Faulkener is still creating and producing dynamic music with fast paced rhythms and catchy melodies. Although similar artists such as Ed Sheeran and Jake Bugg have gained more popularity and recognition than Faulkener in the last couple of years, in no way are they more talented than Faulkener. Seeing Faulkener in 2010 at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, I was blown away with how poignant his music is even more when listening to it live. Somehow, magically, Newton managed to sing, play guitar with his fingers (whilst using it as a drum as well) and play keyboard with his feet!? It was an absolutely incredible experience and I would urge you all to see him play if you can!
