The death of Grace Millane, the Essex backpacker in Auckland, shook New Zealand, Essex and the backpacker community to it’s very core. I shudder to think that Grace could have easily been me at any point, or any other solo female traveller.

My condolences and respectful wishes go out to her and her family.
