Brought up in the Middle East and travelling frequently from a young age, Vicky has a zest for life and she brings this positive energy with her in all that she does, throughout her work and outside of it, always being open to new cultures and new experiences. 

With a background shaped in the creative arts, Vicky continued her passion for communication and storytelling as a multi platform presenter, reporter, broadcast journalist, producer, and documentary maker for the BBC, as a writer, and in a workshop setting as a facilitator and speaker.

She specialises in sourcing original human focused stories that highlight injustice or inspire, and her main interests are stories associated with: women, mental health and adventure.

Vicky has experience reporting, presenting and producing original multi platform investigative and sensitive stories for programmes, documentaries and podcasts, for BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 4, BBC 5live, BBC World Service, reporting for television for BBC News, writing for BBC News and reading the news to time across the Channel Islands, as well as presenting for commercial radio stations and companies. 

She is working as an investigative journalist for the award winning File on 4 programme for BBC Radio 4, producing engaging audio documentaries whilst reaching a wider audience via digital and social treatments and collaborating with different networks across the BBC for further impact, and her voice is used frequently across File on 4 programmes for voiceovers.

Vicky also presents programmes for the BBC World Service, Witness History and Sporting Witness. As well as this, she’s a talking head for BBC Radio 1, 1xtra, BBC Radio 4, and across BBC local radio on subjects ranging from solo travel to dating and she’s reported on her own exclusive stories for BBC 5live. Vicky’s stories have gone on to be picked up by BBC Breakfast, ITV, Sky, Good Morning Britain, Apple News, and the Daily Mail.

In addition to radio, Vicky has experience reporting and presenting for TV. Highlights include reporting on original stories for BBC News in the Channel Islands; ranging from the housing crisis, mental health, and endometriosis, reporting at Eid Festival, and reporting on the Audio Production Awards for three years in a row.

Vicky has also facilitated workshops and delivered talks on “Owning Your Superpower of Being Too Much”, basic drama skills, issue based work, or highlighting various forms of storytelling across radio, podcasts, and the creative arts, working with the BBC Young Reporter scheme, Bush Theatre, NCS The Challenge and Freshwater Theatre Company.

Vicky’s diverse skill set highlights her versatility and vast imagination, and her infectious enthusiasm for life and creative energy drives her purpose behind her practice, which she brings to all aspects of her work.

Outside of work Vicky is an adventurer and traveller, having explored 61 countries at the age of 30, bungee jumped, sky dived, swam with sharks, parahawked in Nepal, tackled white water rapids and hiked volcanoes and mountains all across the world.   1. I listened to your podcast on thelmaandlouise.com and enjoyed it very much. Like you I found travelling around India by public transport enormous fun. I’ll certainly be reading your blog in the future and hope to pick up some tips for my own travels, although, alas, they will be of much shorter duration.

    1. Yes, it really is an adventure on public transport! Thanks so much that’s very kind, I promise in August I will smarten my blog up a bit (too busy travelling hahah) and dont worry, it doesn’t matter about time- as long as you enjoy yourself!
